The Hague Southwest consists of Moerwijk, Morgenstond, Bouwlust and Vrederust. Residents of these neighborhoods are more likely to experience poverty, unemployment, health problems, poor housing and social isolation. The National Southwest Program brings perspective back to the neighborhoods and to the lives of the residents.

The National Southwest Program wants the Southwest to be a nice place to live, work and live for everyone. To achieve this, they organize initiatives in the sectors of housing, work, education, safety, health and social cohesion. Projects that the Zuidwerst National Program is currently working on include tackling indoor gardens and organizing free preschool education for toddlers who need it.
