The Pal app was developed to reimagine palliative care and improve access to adequate home care for anyone affected by a life-threatening illness. In the Living Lab Social Domain and Technology an investigation will be launched together with Pal, the municipality of The Hague and The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
Pal is the winner of the SocialTech Startup Network Series 2023, a program in which the best start-ups in the country are guided in the development of their innovation. From the seven participants, the expert jury selected Pal as the most promising start-up within the social domain of The Hague.
Pal supports informal caregivers in the home situation. It complements the care provided by professional caregivers and helps families to be more self-reliant, communicative and informed. Pal is designed to help caregivers with:
- Planning and collaboration (shared care planner function)
- Tracking and monitoring symptoms
- Finding concrete and easy-to-read information about symptoms and other topics in the digital library
