The Healthcare Innovation Hub has many enthusiastic partners. But who are these partners and what do they contribute? Meet Chris Schaapman, director of the National Southwest Program (NPZW).
The NPZW focuses on improving the quality of housing, weeks and life in The Hague Southwest. As director, Chris Schaapman is the 'driver and connector' of this body. He also hopes to take on that role within the Healthcare Innovation Hub.
Why is NPZW a partner of the Healthcare Innovation Hub?
“Because it is a great initiative for the residents of The Hague Southwest. The hub is located in the heart of Southwest. The parties that will be active within the Healthcare Innovation Hub will therefore also be active there. This benefits the development of the area. The hub provides employment for residents. It is also great in terms of appearance that there is such an innovative organization in Southwest. That contributes to a more positive image.”
What will be the role of NPZW within the Healthcare Innovation Hub?
“I cannot give a concrete answer to that yet, but it will in any case have to do with stimulating collaborations between the hub and residents of Southwest. Our goal is to involve residents in the hub, so that they notice that a difference is being made to their benefit.”
How do you look back on February 1?
“It was a successful starting moment. The parties involved have all presented themselves and explained in a nice way how they want to contribute. I have become acquainted with various parties, and I will soon see to what extent those parties have already been included in the NPZW. I think there are strong, new connections there.”
What is your dream for the Healthcare Innovation Hub?
“My dream is that the Healthcare Innovation Hub will become something that Southwesterners can be proud of. I also hope that the hub will become a magnet for the Leyweg shopping center, where the hub is located. The shopping center could use innovation and this is precisely the opportunity for that.”
