The corona pandemic affects us all. For example, we can visit each other less. Home visits by care and welfare employees are also almost impossible. To keep in touch with clients, 8 care and welfare organizations in The Hague have started video calling.
Video calling is relatively new in the healthcare and welfare sector. That is why the municipality of The Hague puts the care and welfare parties that make video calls in contact with each other. This way they can exchange experiences and learn from each other.
On March 23, 7 care and welfare organizations discussed what image bubbles can mean for the residents of The Hague they guide. Participants were the LWPC agency, HWW-Zorg, the municipality's iZi Gezond Lang Thuis project, the Salvation Army, Saffier, Schroeder and the BuddyNetwerk foundation. Unfortunately, respect care could not be present. Employees of the municipality of The Hague, the company De Compaan and The Hague University of Applied Sciences also sat down to listen to the experiences.
In general, video calls are good. Most organizations want to integrate it into their services in addition to physical home visits and telephone contact. Video calling is therefore not intended to replace home visits.
The main point of attention is that not only residents have to get used to video calls, but also the employees and volunteers of the care and welfare organizations.
