City-wide campaign in The Hague
Continue to live independently in your own home for as long as possible. That is what (almost) everyone wants. Sometimes people need extra support for this. To familiarize all residents of The Hague with technology and let them experience that technology can be a solution for a request for help or care and more self-reliance, the municipality and partners are starting a city-wide campaign.
This new 'Technology for the home' campaign is really from and for the city. Various organizations that are already working in the city with technology for care and support at home are at the basis of the campaign: the municipality, the Hagaziekenhuis, care providers Voorall, Middin, Saffier and Schroeder, and educational institutions Center for Innovative Craftsmanship of ROC Mondriaan and The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Other organizations or associations can also participate; a special campaign package is available for them.
“People are always central, technology is supportive,” says alderman Kavita Parbhudayal (Healthcare Innovation). “We like to talk to each other and invite people to discover what is already possible. The corona measures will not stop us and our ambitions. We organize conversations where possible. Perhaps still on a small scale, at a safe distance and online, but in the future in more and more places in the city”.
Alderman Kavita Parbhudayal: “We show that technology is not an end in itself, but a means to improve the quality of life. Technology should suit people and not the other way around. We see huge opportunities; not only in the technological innovation itself, but also in the change power that entrepreneurs, investors and knowledge institutions in this sector bring with them. By linking that world to that of the social domain, we expect to be able to organize care and support in a smarter way and help people to remain independent for longer and more comfortably”.
