Friday November 25, during the busy event Meet & Discover! Care technology for the home presented a new tool: the Technology for Home Explorer. This tool gives people advice on which technology can help them live longer at home. For example, a smart medicine box, an app for informal carers to keep an eye on things or smart lamps that reduce the risk of falling in the dark.
Alderman Kavita Parbhydayal of Work, Neighborhoods and Services, and driver of healthcare innovation, launched the explorer together with iZi ambassador Coen de Leth. “For most people, healthcare technology is still unknown territory. That is understandable. And also a pity! Because there are so many possibilities. And in the coming years there will only be more. But how do you know what suits your situation and how do you determine that? That's why I'm glad that from today there is a smart help. With the Home Explorer Technology, everyone can check for themselves which tool would suit them best,” says Kavita Parbhydayal.
About the Technology for Home Explorer
The explorer is still under development. Based on the reactions of residents, informal carers and care and welfare employees, the municipality wants to further improve the scout. The explorer not only gives advice, but also tells you where products are for sale and where they can be viewed. In The Hague, residents can go to one of the experience or lending locations. A number of products can also be borrowed here temporarily to experience how and whether it works at home.
Healthcare technology
The right technology can help you live longer in a healthy and pleasant home. In collaboration with residents, healthcare providers, entrepreneurs and knowledge and educational organisations, the municipality of The Hague has been working for years to draw attention to the subject and to inform residents about the possibilities. During the Meet & Discover! Care technology for the home, visitors received information about care technology and were able to try out more than 20 innovative care solutions. They were also given the opportunity to discuss care now and in the future during a 'citizen's consultation'.
Cooperation
The event was organized by the municipality, Knowledge Center Health Innovation of The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Center for Innovative Craftsmanship, care specialist Tzorg and employers' association ZWconnect. The Technology for Home Explorer is an initiative of the municipality of The Hague and Thuisleefgroep.
