Thursday 23 November – SmartCare congress 2023
THE CONGRESS ON SMARTER HOME: HOW CAN WE LIVE AT HOME LONGER WITH TECHNICAL AND SOCIAL INNOVATION?
The SmartCare Congress 2023 will take place on 23 November at the Achmea Congress Center in Zeist. This congress focuses on the challenge of enabling people to live independently at home for longer with the help of technological and social innovation.
The Netherlands is ageing: in 2040 there will be twice as many over-75s as there are now. Long-term care is also widely used. Both people in long-term care and the elderly will also continue to live independently for much longer. This calls for action in the field of housing, care and welfare! Collaboration between public and private partners is essential, with input from (future) elderly people themselves.
Joint approach
The SmartCare congress brings together municipalities, housing corporations, healthcare organizations and other partners to arrive at a joint approach. This year the focus is on care for the elderly and the disabled, covering both the development and implementation of technology. During this day, experiences of professionals and clients are shared, inspiring practical examples are presented, practical tools are offered and bottlenecks are discussed during co-creation sessions.
Independent for longer with an infrastructure for Technology for the home
One of the speakers during the conference is Charlotte Krom, program manager Technology for the home of the municipality of The Hague. The municipality of The Hague is working with residents, healthcare providers, entrepreneurs and educational institutions on suitable and affordable healthcare technology to help residents of The Hague to continue to live independently at home for longer and more comfortably. During the conference, Charlotte will share a concrete approach to really get Home Technology up and running. In addition, we jointly look at the opportunities and challenges for the coming period.
