The Hague was also the hosting city for the official opening of the national e-health week this year. On Monday 27 January, some 2,500 professionals from the healthcare and tech sector gathered in the AFAS Circus Theater for the ICT&Health Opening Event. At the opening, Kavita Parbhudayal, alderman for Care, Youth and Public Health, emphasized the importance of 'just doing it'.
The alderman referred to the results and learning points of the Hague iZi approach. She also underlined the importance of structural cooperation between residents, care providers, knowledge and educational institutions, chain partners, entrepreneurs and the government. An ecosystem for healthcare innovation is good for residents of The Hague and can boost the economy in the region of The Hague. That appears from research commissioned by the municipality of The Hague.
“We want to bring companies and startups together, more living labs such as iZi-woning. We also continue to talk to the end users, to find out what suits them, what works for them.”
After the plenary opening, visitors were able to get started in workshops with, among other things, the iZi approach, the WMO forecasting model and the collaboration between healthcare and the tech sector. The iZi stand of the municipality of The Hague, where iZi ambassadors and employees of the municipality explained the iZi approach, was well visited.
